Biblical Contradiction Explained: God’s attributes can or cannot be discovered:

God’s attributes are revealed by his works:

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

Romans 1:20

God’s attributes cannot be known:

“Can you discover the depths of God?
Can you discover the limits of the Almighty?

Job 11:7

Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not become weary or tired.
His understanding is inscrutable.

Isaiah 40:28

Explanation:

These passages do not contradict. Paul, the author of Romans, is not saying that God can be comprehended in his totality. Paul is only saying that the works of God reveal enough as to make any denial of God’s existence, power, or divine nature inexcusable.

Paul does not claim to completely understand the divine nature or eternal power of God. Only that anyone who denies these attributes of God is a fool.
